Loyola’s Center for Criminal Justice developed the Illinois Prison Dashboard with publicly available data from the Illinois Department of Corrections. The dashboard enables users to explore how prison populations, admissions, releases, and MSR populations have changed over time, and to break down results by the demographic characteristics of the people incarcerated, by offense types and offense levels, and by sentencing or supervision region. Data cover the period from 2018 to the present and are updated biannually.
